The Ethical Dilemma
Charting a Bold and New Path for Ethics and Values in Nigeria
In this timely and apt book, the author travels down memory lane to draw on key aspects of the turbulent history of the geographical expression called Nigeria to attempt an analytical description of the malady he aptly calls Nigeria’s ethical dilemma. To broach a subject whose scope is as expansive as the culture and ethnicity of Nigeria is diverse, the author has ingeniously sought safety in the 1999 constitutionally-prescribed seven National Ethics of Discipline, Integrity, Dignity of Labor, Social Justice, Religious Tolerance, Self-Reliance and Patriotism; in a rare literary excursion into the complex subject of ethics and values in Nigeria
WAY FORWARD
The starting point is our individual and collective effort to alter our mindset and value system, to begin to chart a radically new and bold path in our collective desire to transform our society into one that is firmly rooted on the egalitarian virtues of hard work, industry, integrity, peace, justice and equity.
Wow wow! It’s quite amazing how humans are endowed with divine insight into parasitic Ameoba plaguing mankind. The book Ethical Dilemma is spot on, dissecting in general, issues of divide and rule syndrome which is not peculiar to a specific race, but is a demon off the leach afflicting the entire human race, from home front to business empires and national engagements. I believe the context of the book if properly absorbed and applied will occasion at least 80% of world Peace.
